What Are Some Things I Can Do to Help My Recovering Addict?

Question by : What are some things I can do to help my recovering addict?
My fiancee is finally going into rehab after being a drug addict most of his teenage years and on into his early adulthood. Any tips/advice on how to help would be great. I want to support his decision to get clean and stay clean as much as possible yet I want to approach it in a way that lets him know his ongoing addiction has taken a toll on everything he has planned in life. Any help would be great. Thank you!!

Regular NA is the answer. If he doesn’t want to go or says it doesn’t help, you should leave him. I’m serious, it’s hard to stay clean and the ONLY way is regular NA meetings, a home group, and a sponsor. You should not drink or smoke pot or anything like that, and painkillers in the house are a no-no too. I’d put off any thoughts of marriage until he gets a few years clean.
