Misdemeanor – Offenses lower than felonies and generally punishable by fine, penalty, forfeiture, or imprisonment. A minor misdemeanor does not create a criminal record in Ohio but some people have found that it can still appear in background checks

Decriminalization – The state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, this means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation (minors may be

*For drug convictions in Ohio, including minor misdemeanors, the offender’s driver’s license is suspended for a period of 6 months – 5 years. Professional licenses are also suspended… This may change based on if it is a state ordinance or city ordinance but I am no expert.
*Minors are often told they need to appear in person in court just like you would if you are a minor in a traffic accident and it is considered your fault.
*Ohio has DUID laws. Any motorist with detectable amounts of THC in their blood above 2 ng/ml, or THC_COOH in the urine above 15 ng/ml faces penalties of 3 consecutive days in jail or a driver’s intervention program, along with a suspended license.

Possessing or cultivating less than 100 g is a minor misdemeanor with $ 100 fine.
Giving as a gift of 20 g or less (not the case if given to minors or in certain locations) is a minor misdemeanor with $ 100 fine

From here down, any offences are on your record unless it is later expunged. You will be arrested and start the process. There is the possibility of probation or a conditional release program that usually involves drug awareness classes and drug rehab.:
Paraphernalia possession is is a misdemeanor with 30 days in jail and a $ 750 fine.
100 g to 200 g is a 4th degree misdemeanor with 30 days in jail and $ 250 fine.
Distributing paraphernalia is a misdemeanor with 90 days in jail and a $ 1,000 fine.
200 g to 1000 g is 5th degree felony with 6 months to 1 year in prison and $ 2,500 in fines.
1000 g to 5000 g is a 3rd degree felony 1-5 years in prison and up to $ 10,000 in fines.
Distribution to minors is an automatic felony.

From here the presumption is you will be in prison the full term:
5000 g to 20,000 g is a felony with 1 – 5 years of incarceration.
20,000 g or more is a mandatory minimum 8years in prison.
