Help With Finding an Inmate in a Dominican Republic Prison?
Question by Piano’s LUVR: Help with finding an inmate in a Dominican Republic prison?
Hello to all,
I recently found out a friend I was once close with and then lost contact, was arrested and placed into a prison in the Dominican Republic. She was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs from DR into Florida; so i’ve been told.
I am wondering if there is anyway I can look online, to see where she is being held. Anyone who can help, thanks.

Perhaps you can get in touch with the American consulate or embassy there and make inquiries. I am sure you can find their addresses in some website.
Well, I did some research and edited my answer:
Dominican Republic Embassy
1715 22nd St., N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20008

Ask for Mr. Ramón Ruíz

“Prisoners and their families can call for counseling and information about deportation and processing file situations.”
Ask this man how you can send a letter to your friend, or how to contact her, tell him you need the jail’s name and address. I hope they give you that info because you are a friend and not family. Maybe you can find a mutual friend who knows a relative with info.
You have to start somewhere.
Well, it seems you are a friend.
Good luck!
