Any protected health information is covered under HIPAA.

Your information must be protected by certain parties and facilities, HIPAA does not apply to your neighbors, so the doctor and the hospital and staff can’t tell anyone anything about you, your neighbor on the other hand can tell anyone anything they know about you.
