Why Does It Make Sense to Put People in Prison for Drug Offenses So They Can Learn to Be Better Criminals?
Question by No Mas Republicano: Why does it make sense to put people in prison for drug offenses so they can learn to be better criminals?
And possibly become racists and gang-bangers because they have to in order to survive in prison. Is that what we want them to learn?
Shouldn’t they be forced into a drug rehab facility instead?

Ok it’s official. We will let all the prisons open and let all the criminals go frocklicking through the field of daisies onto American playgrounds. What a sick liberalalala land.

Touche.
This is a fallacy. How exactly do you learn to be a better criminal? Are there study groups for it in jail?
Either you learn your damn lesson or you become hardened and get sent back in after your released. Its really not that hard to stay out of jail. I’ve managed to do it my entire life.
if they get more connections the state makes a larger cut when they catch them again.
I agree with you going to prison for a soft crime only makes people worse off. The state makes money off them around 150 each per day. Rehab would be too costly for everyone.
so the population can increase and the private company which is the prison will get more money (they need to make sure the drug offenders will be back)
naw I think they should be chained, and put on road gangs for a year.
Read about the father in Bakersfield who was let off on drug charges 20 times…He was high on PCP when he ate his 4 year-old son’s eyes.

This is one thing about Conservatives I don’t agree with. The prison system is way too tough. Which turns small-time offenders into more offensive criminals.
Although I do have to disagree with you on the rehab thing. You really can’t force somebody into rehab if they don’t want to go. If they don’t want to go it’s not going to be successful. That’s what interventions are for: to talk somebody into going to rehad.
I think they should have lower security prisons for those kids who are caught with drugs because it just doesn’t seem right that a kid smoking pot should be kept in the same prison with a rapist- murderer.
It is only one of the many thing we do that does not make sense, We invade countries to get their oil, and then we don’t get it to prove that it was not why we did it. We let the banks crash the economy and then we give them money. We blame pregnant teenage girls for our problems but try to prevent them for getting abortions. We have a huge deficits and the compromise solution of our two parties is to cut taxes and increase spending.
